Job Title: Installation Superintendent

Job Description

Representing the Company on-board of an Installation Vessel or another marine spread, the Offshore Superintendent is accountable for the execution of the operations related to an Installation project in line with the Engineering procedures and the Company requirements in terms of safety and quality.

As the authorised decision maker on-board, he/she represents the company with the client and the Vessel Master defending the Company’s interest at all time.

He/she is responsible for managing the offshore project team (including subcontractors), coordinate the marine crew and for maintaining the company’s assets to ensure readiness and performance on projects to sustain company reputation as a trusted partner for projects.

ROLE CONTRIBUTION

In order to ensure the project readiness to prepare the successful delivery of projects YOU ARE TO:

Support and advise the Proposal team in the Win phase of the project as a subject matter expert and technical authority for offshore installations.

Engage early with the Project Manager to assess, improve and approve project engineering procedures and documentation deployed to the project team.

Provide input to the Vessel Operations Manager so that the offshore project team has the required skills and expertise to deliver the Project Execution Plan.

Share on best practices and develop initiatives to learn from current and past projects/vessel operations improving Company’s know-how.

Stakeholder feedback (PM, Vessel Operations Manager, Proposal Team)

In order to ensure the Project is executed in a safe and efficient way, in compliance with company standards, local regulations and Client’s requirements YOU ARE TO:

Lead the overall operations within the various disciplines: Diving/ ROV Supervisor/ Bridge team/ Deck team/Field Engineer/Third parties.

Coordinate with the marine crew for marine operations.

Cascade the Project requirements and Engineering procedures to the marine personnel, project team and other offshore subcontractors and ensure they are well understood and execute.

Oversee the offshore work planning of the Vessel and ensure the optimisation of the necessary resources for the project and the vessel.

Coordinate and ensure the synchronised execution of the task plan with the 2 Offshore Construction Supervisors as per procedure and arbitrate issues between different disciplines when necessary, aligned with the Project Engineer.

Monitor, assess and report the project plan milestones, certificates and other deliverable's to the Project Manager and the client.

Continually maintain an appropriate level of awareness, knowledge and preparedness across the team to up skill team members and create a culture that prioritizes quality and effective HSSE and balances overall associated costs.

Ensure that the project activities comply with the Vessel HSE Management System.

Ensure the equipment is undertaken as planned in optimisation with project activities.

Ensure the Field Engineer develops ownership to maintain a healthy ratio of maintenance work versus Project work.

KPI related to the maintenance of the Vessel.

Job TitleOffshore Construction Supervisor

Job Description:

Offshore Construction Supervisor works under the authority of the Offshore Superintendent and is responsible for the execution of the operations related to an Installation project in line with the Engineering procedures and the Company requirements in terms of safety and quality.

ROLE

In order ensure the Project is executed in a safe and efficient way during his shift, in compliance with company standards, local regulations and Client’s requirements YOU ARE TO:

Ensure operations are performed efficiently in accordance with the approved task plans delivered by the Installation engineer via tool box talks.

In respect of the guidance of the Offshore Superintendent, ensure a smooth synchronisation over the 2 shifts.

Identify the technical issues and escalate them as appropriate, to ensure early resolution and to facilitate the execution.

Log and report progress on the encountered issues during the shifts. Supervise the implementation of the corrective actions. Ensure that your pre-shift scenario is properly prepared.

When applicable, provide guidance and technical support to the office Installation team.

Ensure effective communication and clarify grey zone with Installation Project Engineer / Offshore Superintendent when things are not clear in task plans.

Run risk assessment and tool box talks ensuring the different departments are working together to ensure safety and efficiency during execution of task plans.

Cascade the safety rules and ensure that the rules are understood and applied by the team.

Anticipate the necessary safety training for the team and report the needs to the HSE advisor.

Supported by the HSE advisor, continually maintain a high level of awareness on HSSE topics and procedures amongst the team via training, awareness sessions etc.

Supervise the operations within the various offshore units: Diving/ ROV Supervisor/ Bridge team/ Deck team/Field Engineer/Third parties.

Job Title: Mechanical Draughtsman

Job Description

We are looking for one or more Mechanical Draughtsmen to support the on-going development of propriety mechanical / structural equipment relating to the marine & renewables sectors. The equipment in question will be subsea ploughs, launch and recovery systems, ROVs, intervention towers and miscellaneous fabricated deck equipment.

 The successful Draughtsman will have the following attributes:
•Technical Qualification in Mechanical Engineering. (HNC, HND or similar)
•Highly proficient using Autocad, Autodesk Inventor, Vault.
•Ability to work with minimal supervision.
•Interpret customer requirements in conjunction with the Design Engineers to produce general arrangement  and assembly drawings.
•Liaise with engineers & customers if required for the clarification of drawings and requirements.
• Produce accurately detailed fabrication drawings to allow the fabrication of a mechanical / structurally sound, bespoke product manufactured from the correctly specified materials.
•Have an understanding of manufacturing technologies, processes, techniques and installation procedures.

Job Title: Mechanical Designer

Job Description:

Responsible for the preparation, production and upkeep of Datum Pack drawings and photographs in accordance with Defence Standard (Def Stan) 02-38, Def Stan 02-41 and customer requirements.
Responsible for resolving problems / queries through analysing and interpreting technical information that are supplied by internal and external customers.
Contribute, using appropriate standards, sound technical experience and knowledge, to the selection of best methodologies for the resolution/completion of tasks allocated by SSMG/Ministry of Defence (MoD).
To assess and verify design proposal drawings and Datum Pack drawings which results in on-site / boat validation in order to resolve technical queries.
Conduct on-site and off-site visits in support of the production of design drawings.
To carry out the upkeep and maintenance of the Submarine Ship Fit equipment database in Submarine Definition Database (SDD) via technical drawings and on-board validation.
Supply of technical information leading to the production of Guidance Information, working drawings and Datum Pack drawings.
Responsible for liaising with internal and external customers, Project and Production in order to provide support, and where applicable, complete contractual agreements.
Have a sound knowledge of drawing section practices, Quality Assurance practices and governance procedures in order to provide assistance in a proficient and timely manner.
Manage, control and maintain the Quality Assurance live files for all classes of submarines.
Provide technical drawing assistance to the design groups as and when required.
Provide a professional response to all stakeholders via verbal, written, design and presentation methods of communication.
Upkeep and control of First Level master documents ensuring archive copies are maintained.
Responsible for the allocation of Fittings, Pipes and Bulkhead Penetration numbers for A, T and V Class submarines and electrical cable and equipment numbers for A Class submarines.
Liaise with BAES Submarine Design Services for the allocation of Astute Class Fitting numbers.
Responsible for the capture of all First Level changes consequent upon the analysing / interpreting technical information and design drawings for all classes of submarine for supply to and approval by DESMIS-A-WS6NNPPI (WS6).
Manage, maintain and distribute all updated First Level documentation for internal and external customers.
Update First Level Area diagrams on completion of work packages.
Maintain the SDD for the control of issue states and applicability’s of Submarine Datum Pack drawings.
Maintain the Surface Ship Definition Database (SSDD) for the control of issue states and applicability’s of Surface Ship Datum Pack drawings.
Maintain, manage and distribute the DISSUB packs.
Maintain, manage and distribute the Confidential Datum Pack drawings and system.
Identify and highlight any changes to System Component Publications (SCP) for all classes of submarines through analysing and interpreting A&A’s, SLO’s, Class MOD, Change Requests and any other authority.
Act as a focal point of contact when dealing with any technical queries or requests that are related to drawings or documents associated with submarines that have been raised by industrial partners and internal / external customers.

Academic:
The post holder is required to hold a National Certificate (NC) or equivalent engineering academic qualification with suitable Design Office experience through the lower grades following a 4 year engineering apprenticeship.
Experience
The Post Holder should have the following:
A basic understanding of engineering and design practice's as relevant to individual discipline.
An understanding of ‘As Low As Reasonable Practicable’ (ALARP).
Have an understanding of Company/Departmental procedure's relating to Design, Health & Safety and Quality requirements.
A basic understanding of the ‘Through Life’ documentation support requirements of the Royal Navy.
The ability to communicate effectively.
A working knowledge of Computer Aided Design (CAD) and other computer technology.

Job Description:

The surface ships systems and equipment business sector is currently seeking an Electrical and Control Engineer to work on defence contracts, producing plant control and IT systems for test rig and material handling applications.
The work will be based in Leicester; however time may also be spent at other offices and those of the customer.
Main activities and responsibilities will include:-
Detailed design and specification of PLC based Electrical and Control Systems.
Production of schematic diagrams and control panel layouts.
Production of specifications and engineering documents.
Generations of specifications at all levels.
Interfacing of control systems.
Liaison at all levels with customers and suppliers.
Successful candidates will be highly motivated and organised, with a structured approach to working, and capable of working in and leading a team environment. Candidates will possess excellent communication skills, enabling effective liaison with other engineering disciplines, and with the client at a high level
Candidates must be familiar with working in a naval, secure environment and fully understand the requirements relating to information and physical security. All candidates must comply with company codes of conduct and business ethics, health & safety and computer usage policies.
Experience of electrical design of control systems for marine and industrial environments.
Good working knowledge of AutoCAD electrical.
HNC or above + 3 years minimum experience .
Good working knowledge and understanding of PLC and safety system architecture and software for plant control.
Understandings of PLC applications for plant control.
Good knowledge and understanding of electrical engineering for medium and low voltage power distribution systems, motor starter panels and PLC Systems.
A good knowledge of on site electrical installation, cabling and safety.
