Newcastle Upon Tyne Electrical, Control & Instrument Systems Porject Engineer

Background -- Process, power and controls engineering in the pharmaceutical or manufacturing or process sectors - (ideally powders & liquid / pharmaceutical / R&D)


An inherent regard to all current safety requirements that are generally applicable to all industrial areas.

Knowledge of up to date and latest instrumentation market. Wiring regulations and international standards.

Understanding of Power, PLC and SCADA applications.

A thorough knowledge of process and control systems.


The ability to communicate the need for and carry out `Safe Working` through Permit to Work procedures.

The ability to convert extremely complicated P&IDs to your level of understanding.

The ability to prepare engineering specifications and scopes for control systems.

Management of budgets.

Management of schedules. Progress chasing.

Developing project plans.

Process systems engineering skills.

Process systems knowledge.

Management of contractors on a site, especially with regard to site safety, running CDM sites.

Comfortable in communicating with internal and external engineering contacts, reaching from technical telephone conversation to complex engineering meeting discussions.

Computer literacy with general PC skills. (Word, Excel, Microsoft Project, PowerPoint)

Capable of working unsupervised and alongside process and operational staff in diverse R&D environment.

Willingness to work either stand alone or within a small team of widely skilled engineers with astute regard to safety, accuracy, trial schedules)

Ability to analyse engineering data and prepare reports.

Willingness to work in an R&D environment where reliability and success is dependent on engineering input and commitment.

Electrical Maintenance Technician


Newcastle Upon Tyne

We are currently looking for an Electrical Maintenance technician that has experience working in a manufacturing environment; the ideal candidate will be able to carry fault diagnosis, maintenance and repair as well as providing technical support in a fast paced environment. Knowledge of Allen Bradley systems is essential.
